Moving your home can be exciting, but it also involves knowing what can and cannot be transported safely. To protect our customers, movers, and equipment, we maintain a clear Non-Transportable and Prohibited Goods Policy.
Why Certain Items Are Restricted
Some items pose safety hazards or violate federal and state transportation laws. For that reason, we cannot load, transport, or store specific goods in our moving trucks. Understanding these restrictions helps guarantee a smooth and compliant moving process.
Prohibited Items
The following items are not allowed for transport under any circumstances:
- Hazardous materials such as gasoline, paints, aerosol sprays, lighter fluid, and cleaning solvents.
- Explosives and ammunition, including fireworks and gunpowder.
- Compressed gases like propane tanks or scuba diving cylinders.
- Toxic chemicals (fertilizers, pesticides, or pool chemicals).
- Perishable foods that could spoil or attract pests during transit.
Non-Transportable Household Items
While not necessarily dangerous, some items require special handling or separate arrangements:
- Live plants that cannot survive extended periods inside moving trucks.
- Pets and live animals, which need specialized transport and care.
- Valuable and irreplaceable items such as jewelry, cash, and important personal documents.
- High-value electronics that should be moved by the owner or specialized carriers.
